Chapter 3 Mind your Manners

One of the things Scout has to learn is that it is good manners to make your company feel comfortable in your home and not to point out their bad manners or flaws. In this chapter, Scout criticized Walter Cunningham who was visiting for lunch when he was pouring syrup all over his plate of food.

Chapter 1 Is Boo a Maniac?

Many people in the town think that Boo is a maniac because of the stories that have been told about him for so many years. Supposedly he has been locked in the house by his father first and then his brother since he was a teenager with no contact with the outside world. There is a story that he once stabbed his father with scissors for no real reason.

Bob Ewell's retaliation in chapter 29

Atticus humiliated Bob Ewell and his family during the trial. But Ewell was a coward. Instead of targeting Atticus with his anger, he retaliated against him by attacking the children on Halloween night in the dark school yard while they were defenseless.

in this chapter, tom robinson is bein asked questions for if he had beat and raped mayella ewell. when being asked the question of why he worked for mayella without pay, he said that he felt sorry for her and that he wanted to help.

in chapter 18, mayella ewell was called to the stand to be questioned by Atticus. after awile of being asked the same question over and over again, Mayella began to cry from being under so much pressure.

in chapter 17, scout, dill, and jem go the court house to whach the tom robinson trial. when the kids finally found a seat, they noticed the ewells sitting in one of the front rows.

while walking back from the jail house, jem heard scout talking about him behind his back. when they got home, the quietly went upstairs to go to bed so they wouldn't wake up their aunt, who was sleeping in the room in the hallway next to theirs.
